Jay Chou declines performing at CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala this year

Jay Chou’s performances have been very well-received ever since he dazzled audiences at the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala in 2004. However, his fans are going to be disappointed this year, as the Taiwanese superstar has allegedly declined to perform at the prestigious event for the fifth time during Lunar New Year’s Eve.

Reports claimed the 34-year-old rejected the Chinese television station’s invitation earlier this month, and has planned to “spend time with his mother and grandmother.”

Although Jay’s management company, JVR Music said that they did not receive word of the matter from CCTV, they have confirmed that Jay will not be performing at the Spring Festival Gala this year due to “family commitments.”
