Following Chinese actor Li Yapeng’s embezzlement controversy, action star Jet Li is being accused of siphoning RMB$3 billion (approximately S$60 million) from One Foundation, the charity fund that he set up.

An anonymous Weibo user posted on April 22, accusing Jet of stealing RMB$3 billion from donation funds that were obtained to aid those affected by the earthquake in Ya’an, China.

The post was titled “Where have our donations gone to?” and revealed that at the time of 20 April, 2014 8:02pm, One Foundation had garnered a massive amount of donations totaling up to RMB$4 billion (approximately S$80 million), thanks to Jet’s influence as an international star. However, the amount of money that had been used towards disaster aid was only less than ten percent of what had been collected, causing doubt as to where the rest of the donations have gone.

In response to the allegations, Jet posted on his Weibo on Wednesday: “I really wish I could embezzle funds from One Foundation, but I don’t have the seal or authority and the money is in the nation’s bank, so how am I going to transfer the funds to my personal account? Can someone teach me how to do it?”
