Almost 35 years after they set the charts alight with You're The One That I Want, Grease co-stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are to reunite on record with a charity Christmas album.

In fact, the on-going success of that song is the reason it's happening at all.

According to the official blurb, Newton-John texted Travolta last Christmas to tell him their 1978 duet had become the best-selling duet in pop music history. The idea for the album came from there. Travolta said in a statement, “From the moment we decided to do this, magic happened. Everyone we contacted agreed to do it.”

And they contacted some pretty big names. Released on November 13, This Christmas is set to feature contributions from Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Kenny G, Cliff Richard and jazz legend Chick Corea.

The explanation sounds perfectly reasonable, and with the proceeds going to charidee, you'd feel a bit mean being down on it... but doesn't it seem a touch odd? No? Maybe it's just us. Tell you what though, the rest of the Christmas albums in this gallery are 100% undiluted festive bonkers.
