Julian Cheung and Dayo Wong dismiss rumours of discord
Hong Kong actors Julian Cheung and Dayo Wong proved that they are still on good terms by posing with a hug last Friday, dismissing rumours which claimed that the two have fallen out following their battle for the Best Actor crown at the recent 2013 TVB Anniversary Awards.
Although Julian won the “Most Popular Male Character” title for his well-loved role, “Captain Cool”, the Triumph in the Skies II star hinted at his unhappiness over losing the Best Actor award in his acceptance speech. His words sparked speculations that he was sore about his defeat to Dayo.
On Friday night, Julian and TVB executive Tommy Leung were having dinner in Causeway Bay, when they learned that the cast of Bounty Lady, including Dayo, was having a gathering in Tsim Sha Tsui. The pair then decided to join the party and Julian even brought along a bottle of wine to congratulate Dayo on his win.
Julian and Dayo, who were seen giving toasts to each other, also happily posed for pictures together. Later that night, Julian uploaded the photo on his Facebook page, which created much online buzz.
During a phone interview with the Hong Kong media, Dayo mentioned that he is “very concerned” about reports saying that he is on bad terms with Julian as the latter’s wife, actress Anita Yuen, is his sworn cousin. “I don’t wish for the results [of the awards] to affect our close relationship,” he added.
Meanwhile, Julian revealed that the two had discussed about collaboration plans while having drinks that night. “It could be a movie, a drama or any other production, but I hope to have a chance to work with Dayo. I’m looking forward to that,” said the actor.
