Kang Gary, one of South Korean hip-hop duo LEESSANG, rocked the stage last night at The Padang with female music partner Choi Jung-In at the NTU Fest organised by students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The rapper, whose last visit to Singapore was for a LEESSANG showcase last November, expressed his happiness to be part of this charity event. The NTU Fest aims to raise money for the needy Institute of Technical Education students and included carnival booths, a charity run as well as the highly-anticipated concert.

Hosted by 987FM DJs Gerald Koh and Kimberly Wang, the concert kicked off with 11 of the top 12 finalists of Project Superstar 2014 who performed the theme song of the competition and heated up the crowd. Alfred Sim was unable to attend the event as he was overseas.

The contestants further showcased their vocals and split themselves into two groups to sing Wei Ni Er Huo and Just Give Me A Reason. It was their first time performing in front of such a huge crowd and they even took the chance to rally for votes.

Thereafter, winner of singing competition The Final 1 Farisha Ishak took the stage with two songs – Tonight and Aligned – from her new album released early this year. MediaCorp artiste Desmond Tan, who had recently penned a love song to Singapore, also serenaded the crowd with a Chinese ballad Ye Ye Ye Ye.

The cast of Ch5 drama Mata Mata 2 then treated the audience to a light-hearted dance on stage to the song Happy. Celebrities Rayve Tay, Chen Tian Wen and Pan Ling Ling moved to the groove on stage while Cynthia Koh, Priscelia Chan and Rebecca Lim went off stage to interact with fans in the moshpit.
