Kenji Wu seen on a date with Laurinda Ho?
Taiwanese Mandopop singer Kenji Wu was seen on a supper date with rumoured girlfriend Laurinda Ho after both of them performed at the Tung Wah Charity Show 2013 on Saturday night.
Both openly professed their affections online, and Kenji even publicly expressed his love during the show, dedicating his song ‘Writing a Song for You’ to Laurinda, who is the daughter of Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho. She appeared very captivated by his performance, beaming while applauding.
The couple later met up at Tsim Sha Tsui after the show and had supper at a private corner of a restaurant. When Laurinda realised they were seen by reporters, she wanted to leave immediately, but was stopped by Kenji. He then proceeded to move closer to her and allowed reporters to take photos, indicating that he wanted to be open about their relationship.
They only finished supper at 2am, and Laurinda left with a friend, while Kenji only followed suit three minutes later. Responding to questions on his behaviour, he said that he did not want to leave together with her as “it would be awkward, and give unnecessary pressure to both of us.”
When asked what he thought about Laurinda’s singing, Kenji was full of praise. “I think she’s quite talented, she can sing well,” he said.
He also confessed that he had met her parents, and said of her mother Dr Ina Chan: “She’s very beautiful and kind. Stanley is also full of humour.” But he stressed that he only met them as a “friend” of Laurinda.
When asked by reporters what she thought of her daughter’s beau, Dr Ina Chan, who is also the Chairman of UNIR Management Limited and the third wife of Stanley, replied: “Not bad”. But she did not give a definite response as to whether she approved of their relationship.
“I’m good with them being friends!” she said.
