Korean actor Ahn Jae Wook underwent five-hour-long operation

Korean actor Ahn Jae Wook reportedly underwent a five-hour-long operation for subarachnoid hemorrhage – a condition in which blood leaks into the two membranes surrounding the brain, typically caused by a ruptured cerebral aneurysm or head injury.

According to the Korean media, the actor is no longer in a critical condition, but still needs to be hospitalised.

Jae Wook’s management company revealed that he suddenly threw up and complained of strong headaches while having dinner with his boss in Las Vegas last Sunday.

His boss then sent him to a clinic for brain scans, and the actor was diagnosed with subarachnoid hemorrhage after being sent to a hospital subsequently. Doctors immediately operated on the actor, and the operation lasted five hours.

The 41-year-old’s management company told reporters, “The operation was very successful, but the doctor advised Jae Wook to rest for another three to four weeks as he underwent a major operation.”

Assuring fans that he is well, Jae Wook urged them not to worry too much and said, “I promise to meet all of you once again when I am in a healthy state!”
