Four months after F.T. Island’s concert in Singapore, the band’s lead singer Lee Hong Gi has returned to our sunny island for his first solo fanmeet, Lee Hong Gi’s Proposal in Singapore, which will be held at Resorts World Theatre (Resorts World Sentosa) today.

The 24-year-old was all smiles during the open press conference at City Square Mall yesterday. Looking dapper in an all-white outfit and a pair of Louis Vuitton kicks (which he proudly showed off on Instagram), Hong Gi’s high spirits were apparent as he constantly flashed adorable expressions at the fans who queued for hours to catch a glimpse of him.

“I’m so happy to be back here after our concert. Nice to see all of you!” he said, waving energetically.

Hong Gi, who recently landed himself the role of “Dracula” in upcoming musical Vampire in Japan, thinks the character is cool because “we do not know if Dracula is real or not, but sucking blood out of people is interesting (laughs)”.

That said, he has been practising hard for the role – it is the first time he has put in so much effort, he shared – whilst facing a fair share of challenges, such as trying to remember stage positions and memorising song lyrics.

While the translator was carrying out her duties, the cheeky idol whipped out his phone and started taking an “instavideo” of the crowd, drawing numerous shouts of “oppa” from his delirious fans. Brownie points for fan service!
