Hong Kong actor Louis Koo injured his hand during the filming for his upcoming action flick The Cartel War.

Filming for the Hong Kong film commenced in January and the lead actors include Louis Koo, Nick Cheung and Sean Lau. The cast proceeded to Thailand for filming yesterday.

Louis had to perform dangerous stunts for the film and his hands suffered severe abrasion while filming a car accident scene, despite wearing protective gear.

His hands started bleeding profusely, but fortunately, he was given timely treatment as a medical team was already on standby at the scene.

Reassuring that he was all right after the incident, Louis explained that the accident happened because his protective gear was too tight and he had difficulty breathing.

He also said, “That wasn’t the most dangerous stunt that I’ve done for filming. I almost drove off a cliff when acting in the movie Connected, and in another film, Rob-B-Hood, I nearly fell off a high building.”

The production crew revealed that they had bought insurance worth over HK$10 million (approximately S$1.6 million) for each of the actors.

They also praised Louis and Nick for their professionalism and said the team would continue filming in Thailand for another month.
