Louis Yuen and Ruco Chan involved in separate car accidents
Hong Kong actors Louis Yuen and Ruco Chan, main leads of new TVB drama Brother’s Keeper, were involved in separate car accidents over the past two days.
On Saturday night, Louis was driving along Eagle's Nest Tunnel towards Cheung Sha Wan when he suddenly lost control of his car which collided with another vehicle. The impact of the hit was so strong that his car overturned in the air and skidded for a distance before coming to a complete stop.
Fortunately, the actor did not sustain any injury though his car was badly damaged. “When the car flipped, my first instinct was to cover my face to protect it,” he said.
Although he was upset about wrecking his car less than a year after buying it, he felt even guiltier for crashing into another person’s car and promised to give complimentary concert tickets as “compensation”.
On the other hand, Ruco collided with a taxi when he was fetching co-star Linda Chung to the pier yesterday morning. As they were scheduled to appear at a promotional event in Macau that day, the actor rushed to the venue via helicopter after handling the case.
Ruco appeared very apologetic when he spoke of the accident and reminded everyone on the importance of road safety. “This is my first [accident] in over 10 years. I’ve made an amicable settlement with the taxi driver and I’ll discuss the compensation with him when I return to Hong Kong,” he added.
