Mayday graces StarHub’s online music store launch

Besides interacting with fans, the popular Taiwanese band also shared their upcoming works and plans

Popular Taiwanese band Mayday was in Singapore on Tuesday to celebrate the revamp of StarHub’s online music store.

Besides interacting with fans at the event, the members of the five-men band demonstrated how to use the digital music services.

Vocalist Ashin said the band occasionally chats with fans online and shares music that they like with them. He said it is a rare opportunity for them to share their passion for music because they hardly get the chance to talk about music when they appear on variety programmes.

When asked if fans have ever told them something online that left a deep impression, bassist Masa said fans would always ask that they log on earlier as they don’t usually do so until after midnight. Masa explained that they don’t have much of a choice as they can only go online after work for the day has ended.

And it is also because of work commitments that Mayday arrived one man short for Tuesday’s event - leader and guitarist Monster headed back to Taiwan alone after their show in Malaysia on Monday.

The band members remained tight-lipped about Monster’s whereabouts, only saying that they would reveal more when the time is right.

They were also secretive about their cast choice for the band’s “NOWHERE” concert movie slated for release this year.

In their previous concert movie 'Mayday 3DNA', the band invited popular Taiwanese actors Richie Jen and Rene Liu to star in the film.

Mayday hinted that two of their own members who are “movie stars” will most likely be acting in the film - one of them being guitarist Stone who just attended the Berlin Film Festival this year. As for the other “movie star”, Mayday said it would be a surprise.
