Behind every great man is a great woman – and as the ruler of the Emerald City, it only makes sense that the “wonderful” Wizard of Oz would have three. Disney’s ‘Oz the Great and Powerful,’ which will be released in Singapore today, imagines that the three witches we saw in the 1939 adaptation as key players in Oscar Diggs’ transformation from a circus musician to the revered Wizard. Glinda looks more or less the same – but how in the world did the two beautiful brunettes pictured above end up so wicked?
Earlier this month, xinmsn got the chance to chat with leading ladies Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams about their roles as Theodora, Evanora, and Glinda while the cast was promoting Oz in Los Angeles. According to the actresses who play them, the witches’ outright villainy (and Glinda’s otherworldly goodness) made the characters extra fun to play, despite the terror of having to do justice to the Judy Garland version of the story.
