Yup, you heard us right - Pamelyn Chee's flying solo for now. The former FLY Entertainment artiste, who is still temporarily managed by them while she juggles with an ongoing work project, has decided to step out of her cozy and safe haven to venture into the great unknown.
Likening herself to a snail, the actress shared that she enjoys carrying "her house" (i.e. suitcase) behind her back, moving from one location to another. As someone who prefers to be constantly on the move, the bilingual actress calls "living out of her suitcase" her lifelong dream.
In the name of pursuing her "dreams", she took a leap of faith and recently decided against renewing her contract with FLY despite spending four happy years with them.
"Irene and Ling (her manager in FLY) have been great every step of the way. (What's next?) I may be on the lookout for my own projects, I may go somewhere else or I may just not be living in Singapore. Everywhere is fine except my own house. (Laughs)"
The cast and crew for Ch8 drama series, Beyond
In an interview with xinmsn for her new Ch8 drama, Beyond, the plucky one admitted that no concrete plans have been laid out yet. "Everything's up there now. I'll decide on my next step depending on where the next call comes from," she surmised.
Currently in the thick of filming for Serangoon Road an upcoming HBO drama series set in Batam, Pamelyn shared that she will play a straight-talking, upper-class Peranakan lass called Suling -- unlike her passive and imaginary role in sci-fi Ch8 series, Beyond.
