This was an almost certain lock down for Anne Hathaway, whose competition in the category was Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Nicole Kidman and Maggie Smith. Nevertheless, thanks to her unflinchingly raw role as Fantine in Les Miserables, Hathaway took the Actor and continued to dream her dream all the way the Oscar stage.
