Pretty Little Liars' Troian Bellisario: I’m my own harshest critic
When asked if she enjoys acting or writing more, Troian said that they give a different sense of satisfaction. Writing gives her the freedom to create a role according to whatever she imagines it to be, she explained. But acting can be fun if she is working on a project that she feels passionate about and she gets the same “losing yourself in the world” feeling, when she steps out of her own character and plays somebody else.
Her fascination with working behind the scenes began when her parents brought her along for filming; it also triggered her interest for acting at the tender age of four years old.
“I saw people who were dressed up in weird costumes in front of the camera and they looked like they were having so much fun. I told my parents that I wanted to be them and they wrote me my first role at four.”
Arriving in Singapore for the first time with her boyfriend – American actor Patrick J. Adams – yesterday morning, Troian sees her trip as a “mini vacation” before the filming for Pretty Little Liars season four begins.
Despite being jetlagged, the couple was “overwhelmed” by the beauty of the city as they wandered around attractions such as Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands.
When asked if the pair had planned to come to Singapore together, Troian explained that Patrick is currently on a press tour to promote the American drama series, Suits, and she was invited along.
“They were kind enough to ask him if he wants to bring along anybody because they thought he probably wouldn’t want to be alone during this whole time overseas.”
“I got to be the lucky stowaway in his luggage,” she added.
