Raymond Lam plans to establish management company
According to media reports, Hong Kong actor Raymond Lam will not be renewing his contract with TVB after it expires early next year, following his unexpected loss at the 2012 TVB Anniversary Awards.
Word has it that the 33-year-old is planning to establish his own film production and artiste management company, and that he has previously invited his good friend Kate Tsui to join his new venture. However, the actress is said to have rejected the proposal recently, incurring the wrath of Raymond.
Sources revealed that Kate’s decision to stay behind in TVB resulted from the recent departure of Fala Chen. “Raymond and Kate are on very close terms as they share the same manager. Though she did agree to join his new company, she changed her mind afterward,“ said an insider.
“Kate felt that her chances of winning an award are high now that Tavia Yeung and Myolie Wu have both won the top honours previously, and that many A-list actresses have left the company,” the insider shared.
At a promotional activity for new drama Sniper Standoff last Friday, Kate confirmed that she will be re-contracting with TVB and denied all rumours regarding her plans with Raymond.
