Record-breaking C.L.I.F 3 debut brings in 904,000 viewers

The popularity of star-studded Ch8 police drama series C.L.I.F. has never been doubted, but its success reached new heights with last night’s debut of its third instalment.

A staggering 904,000 viewers tuned in to catch the first episode of C.L.I.F. 3 last night, the highest debut rating among the entire C.L.I.F. trilogyC.L.I.F debuted on May 31, 2011 to an audience of 890,000; while 860,000 people tuned in for the first episode of C.L.I.F. 2 on February 18 last year.

Both shows also went on to finish strong: C.L.I.F. was the year’s second most watched drama with an average viewership of 924,000; while C.L.I.F. 2 was the highest-rated serial of 2013 with an average viewership of 901,000.

Fans also flocked to social media to express their excitement: last night, #CLIF3 and Rui En, one of the show’s stars, were seen as Twitter trending topics both in Singapore and Worldwide.

To top it off, these impressive numbers propelled the show to break debut rating records among the rest of this year’s primetime dramas so far. The Caregivers, which recently ended its run, brought in an audience of 882,000 when it first aired on March 12; Soup of Life reached out to 795,000; and Yes We Can! was welcomed by 841,000.
