Rui En in the lead for Star Awards 20 online voting polls

The hot favourite actress takes pole position for two out of three online voting categories

Rui En

Will Rui En continue to dominate 2014’s Star Awards 20 online voting categories as she did in previous years?

Going by the first batch of results released
Monday afternoon at 5pm and after two weeks of online voting, it seems like the answer is a resounding yes.

Apart from bagging the most number of nominations (four) across two categories in the online awards, the first wave of results have revealed that she stands a strong chance of bringing home two trophies again on the first show.

Apart from coming in numero uno in the Favourite Female Character category for her role as Fang Tong Lin in The Dream Makers, the actress’ pairing with Qi Yu Wu (for Favourite Onscreen Couple) in the show is also highly favoured by fans and is currently ranked in top position after two weeks of online voting.

Following in closely behind Rui En and Yu Wu’s coupling would be the revered golden couple (from The Little Nyona-era), Yu Wu and Jeanette Aw, for their childhood sweetheart roles as Jason and Zhao Fei Er in The Dream Makers. Jeanette is shaping up to be a strong competitor this year as the actress is also currently in second place for the same-name role in the Favourite Female Character award category.

Rebecca’s turn as a bubbly lawyer pupil, Guo Wei Qian, in thriller drama Sudden is currently ranked at third position in the Favourite Female Character Award.

Over to the men, currently leading the nominations for Favourite Male Character award is former champion Elvin Ng. Romeo Tan and last year’s reigning champion, Xu Bin, are in the second and third position, respectively.

Xu Bin’s young and refreshing pairing with Julie Tan in Gonna Make It is also another hot favourite amongst fans and is currently in third placing for Favourite Onscreen Couple award, trailing behind Yu Wu’s pairing with Rui En and Jeanette in The Dream Makers.

Don’t despair if your favourite artiste or character failed to make it to top three placing this week, as there’s still time to catch up as long as you keep voting for them. Winners will be announced at the 2014 Star Awards Show 1 on April 20. For more details, check out the Star Awards 2014 microsite.
