Sammi Cheng and Andy Hui are tying the knot
After previous reports speculating that Hong Kong singers Sammi Cheng and Andy Hui have secretly tied the knot in Bali last month, their manager officially announced that the couple will be getting married, but have not registered for their marriage yet.
Their manager said: “There’s really a piece of happy news. Andy actually proposed to Sammi at her birthday party in August, and she accepted. They went to Bali with their families in November to celebrate.”
Reporters also understood that Andy spent three months travelling to Bali and back to prepare for their wedding there, hoping to give her a dream wedding.
When queried by reporters as the couple arrived at Sammi’s house for a Christmas eve party, both merely smiled and declined to be interviewed.
Although sources revealed that the couple would be holding a wedding party for friends and family in Hong Kong next year, their manager said that he would leave the official announcement of the wedding to Sammi and Andy themselves.
The media also spoke to the other three members of Big Four, a musical group made up of four popular singers which Andy is part of. Dicky Cheung revealed that he had received Andy’s text message some time ago, which read: “Decided to spend the rest of our lives together!”
Cantopop singer William So also revealed that Sammi was once greatly affected by his failed marriage, which strengthened her conviction to not get married. But he added that because she has recently been more active in church, her faith has perhaps made her less pessimistic.
