After working together for more than a decade, Sean Lau and Louis Koo are still at a loss when asked to list each other’s charm. “It’s really weird to ask two big guys like us to praise one another but if I really have to, (he turns to face Louis) I think you’re really good looking,” quipped an amicable Sean.
And this is why audience will never get old of this pairing. Moreover, being invited to collaborate time and again tells enough about their chemistry on screen. Not only do directors adore them, the audience (and us) cannot get enough of them.
In their latest film together, Sean and Louis plays estranged firefighting brothers who are forced to put aside their differences to battle through a life-threatening blaze.
With a stellar cast and a hefty budget, Out of Inferno, a film by the Pang brothers, held a press conference at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Hall yesterday. Playing lead actors once again, Sean and Louis shared about the real fire stunts they had to perform (no substitutes were used we last heard) and showcased their close off-screen relationship.
Having collaborated in multiple films, this was surprisingly the duo’s first time acting as siblings. The two strapping actors charmed audiences with their comical performance in their first collaboration, La Brassiere (2001) and outstanding performance in crime thriller Overheard (2009), for example.
While speaking to reporters, the tanned-skinned Sean joked, “Look at us, I used to be darker than him (Louis) but it seems like we have the same skin color now. Maybe that’s why we’re so compatible and are always asked to act together.”
