Super Junior Donghae’s waffle café in Taipei to cease operation
The Grand Place, a waffle café in Taipei co-owned by Super Junior member Donghae, his brother and cousin, will close its doors on Oct 20, less than a year after it opened for business.
The announcement was made on the café’s Facebook page yesterday night: “Dear ELFs, thank you for supporting TGP all this time. For TGP to start anew, we will cease operations on Oct 20.”
Though the café will reportedly be relocated after some business restructuring, many fans have expressed their regret about its closure. “I will visit the café every day for the next 10 days until it shuts its doors,” said a fan.
Last December, Donghae actively promoted The Grand Place via Twitter, attracting a large crowd to the venue on its opening day. The 26-year-old was also spotted visiting the café with fellow Super Junior members, such as Eunhyuk and Siwon, when the group was in Taiwan for various events.
