MediaCorp actor Terence Cao spoke to the media for the first time, after DNA tests have verified him as the biological father of a 20-month-old toddler, at an imaging session for his new drama Soup of Life. which is scheduled to premiere on Ch8 next June.

Though he is happy to be a dad, he has yet to resolve disagreements over child support issues with the daughter's mother, Ms. Shi Shimei, a Shanghainese lady whom he had an alleged affair with in 2010. At the imaging session for the drama which will premiere on Ch8 in June 2013, Terence was the centre of attention as he has been avoiding the media since results of the tests were released.

As Terence has been avoiding the media and mainly responded via his lawyer, Sunil, ever since results of the tests were released, he was naturally the centre of attention.

Despite wearing a smile, the 45-year-old was not willing to dwell further on the issue. He clarified, "I will only talk about the drama today. You can ask the artiste management on all other matters," after learning that the reporters in the studio wished to interview him.

When asked by a xinmsn reporter on the impact the results had on him, he said, "It's actually okay. What's most important right now is work. I'm getting ready to head to Malaysia with the crew for filming."

He added that he is still in talks with Ms. Shi and promised to update everyone on new developments in the case. "My mood today is purely professional. I want to meet the producer and stylists with a professional attitude. We'll chat about other issues next time," he replied, clearly evading questions on his personal life.
