Carrie Underwood slows down her hit "Blown Away" for a subdued moment among the madness. She sings about alcoholism and domestic abuse - while wearing an electronic anime Barbie dress - and hits notes we thought were previously inaccessible for human vocals. Speaking of superhuman performance abilities, Prince (as in The Artist Formerly Known As) shows up to present the award for Record of the Year (the one that gives props to the songwriter). He opens up the envelope, utters "I love this song" (making every nominee pee their pants) and announces the winner as "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye and Kimbra. As the talented pair make their way to the stage, Prince throws down smoke bomb, turns into a cloud of bats and flies away to perch upon the fountain of youth.
