All eyes were on the royal couple (and specifically, on Kate’s belly) when the newly-weds embarked on their maiden tour around the world for the Queen’s Diamond Jubliee tour of the South Pacific in September this year. With more focus put on the latter agenda (obviously), international news wires had a field day after Kate was seen toasting with iced water instead of champagne not once, but twice, at the state banquet of Singapore. While she was not pregnant then, four months later when the couple finally confirmed news of a royal bun in the oven this December, Will and Kate made headlines again for all sorts of reasons: location the royal baby was conceived, Kate’s serious morning illness, Kate’s hospitalisation, and on a sad note, the UK nurse who committed suicide after she fell victim to a prank call by two Aussie DJs.
