Back in Singapore for the press conference of ChU’s upcoming variety show, Find The WASABI!, at Marina Bay Sands ATF Conference Theatre yesterday, Japanese piano-rock band WEAVER shared with xinmsn the challenges of singing in English and the trendiest phrase in Japan right now.

Find The WASABI!, which marks the third collaboration between MediaCorp and Tokyo Broadcasting System (following 2011’s drama Mooncake and last year’s infotainment program Kawaii Style), is a reality program aimed to promote a deeper understanding of the Japanese culture. The show will be broadcasted in multiple countries across Asia next year.

The 13-episode series will feature young celebrities from Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, who previously spent two weeks competing in missions based on the history, food and latest trends in Japan. Local artiste Seraph Sun, who joined MediaCorp after winning the Ms Popularity title in Ch8’s talent-scouting program S.N.A.P, was also thrilled to share her experience at the press conference yesterday.

“The long hours of filming were tedious, but it was very fun! I probably learned more about Japan in two weeks than I would in a year. And I made friends from all over the world through this stint!” she said excitedly.
