Ch 5’s popular quiz game show We Are Singaporeans is back for its third season this May, with veteran host Hossan Leong returning to grill fellow Singaporeans on their knowledge of the Little Red Dot. Featuring a brand new set and various celebrity guests, contestants as well as home viewers will get a chance to win cash prizes up to $20,000!
xinmsn dropped by the set of We Are Singaporeans last week and put Hossan to the test: just how Singaporean is he?
“I consider myself a global citizen. I’ve been quite comfortable anywhere, really. But I’m proud to be a Singaporean, despite all that’s been happening,” he earnestly replied.
Like many locals, the sharp-tongued host can’t do with his chilli. “When I travel, I have to find chilli no matter where I go. I once brought my parents to France and every day, they will ask for Chinese food or chilli,” he chortled.
While proclaiming his love for the nation, Hossan divulged a piece of intriguing news: he would be co-hosting the National Day Parade this year!
Calling himself the “first Chinese host who can’t really speak the language”, Hossan will be preparing for the big show by conserving his voice as he expects himself to scream all night long. “I’m very excited because this is something that I’ve always wanted to do. Finally at the age of 45, I get to host the NDP. I’m very, very proud to do that!” exclaimed the multihyphenate.
