Zen Chong caught between his wife and mother

For someone often caught in a dilemma because of in-law issues between his wife and mother, Zen Chong finally understood that stories in dramas are in fact a mirror reflection of real-life situations. This dawned on him after his turn as Li Siyuan in new Ch8 drama, It’s a Wonderful Life.

In the show, Zen plays a man who is caught between his wife, mother and mother-in-law,  and has to deal with his two families who are often at odds with each other.

In an interview with xinmsn at the press conference for the show, Zen said that his in-law problems are similar to the ones faced by his character in the drama. He recalled an occasion when his mother attempted to cook for him when she came over from Malaysia and shared that misunderstandings arose between his wife and his mother as the latter did not ask for his wife’s permission before using the kitchen.

Zen explained that his wife was upset because she was afraid that his mother would hurt herself as she is unfamiliar with the kitchen equipment.
