Josh Duhamel: 'Friendship is key to a happy marriage'

Josh Duhamel says the key to his successful relationship with Fergie is that they like each other.

The 40-year-old actor and his Black Eyed Peas singer wife are expecting their first child later this year and Josh believes they have been happily married since 2009 because they are first and foremost, best friends.

He told Hollyscoop: ''We're a lot more alike than I think people think, we keep it simple, we're very communicative. I just genuinely like her and she likes me and it's about as simple as that.''

While Fergie, 37, is craving ''citrus lots of citrus,'' Josh joked he too has been having pregnancy cravings.

He said: ''I'm oddly craving more ice cream.''

Josh recently admitted he feels the timing is right for he and Fergie to have kids as they feel much ''wiser'' than when they first wed in 2009.

He explained: ''Now I get to relive my youth through my child and see my child live all that. So everybody's got a different path.

''I wouldn't change anything. We're completely happy. We're much wiser than we were 10 years ago. We're much more ready. I think we're so strong as a couple and all of those things are really important when you bring a little one into the world.''
