FT Island's Lee Hong Gi will not be hosting Mnet's M Countdown for two weeks due to the filming schedules for his upcoming film.
A rep from FNC Entertainment, Lee Hong Gi's agency, told enews on December 12, "Lee Hong Gi will not be attending M Countdown, where he has been appearing as its host, for two weeks due to the shoots for his film Phoenix. Special MCs will be hosting the show instead."
Another official also said, "Lee Hong Gi will be unable to attend M Countdown due to the shoots for his film. Thanks to the cooperation of the producers, a special MC will host M Countdown for two weeks."
The December 13 broadcast will instead be hosted by the group B1A4.
Lee Hong Gi is currently shooting the film Phoenix (tentative title) as its lead with Baek Jin Hee. The film was originally called Our Heaven, but it recently changed its title to Phoenix. In the film Lee Hong Gi will appear as a star who is loved by the public but still suffers from his own pains inside. As he comes to work as a volunteer at a hospice unit he is healed of his own wounds and becomes one with the patients.
