A number of well-received K-Pop songs were released in 2012 but Billboard has revealed its pick of the best 20 K-Pop songs of 2012.
Jeff Benjamin and Jessica Oak of Billboard posted its “20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2012: Big Bang, Psy, 2NE1 & More” on December 21 (local time), in which the music site unveiled its pick of the best of the best K-Pop tracks that were released this year.
Beginning with Catch Me by DBSK at number 20, the list wound through a diverse range of the biggest K-Pop tracks of the year sung by the likes of G-Dragon, Urban Zakapa, FT Island, B2ST, Busker Busker and more.
Coming in at number three on Billboard's list was Memory of the Wind by R&B king, Naul while SISTAR's sultry Alone took the number two spot.
As for the number one K-Pop track of 2012, Billboard gave that honor to Infinite for The Chaser. Billboard described the track as “a waterfall of 80s synthesizers, vocal energy and an explosive, trumpet-driven chorus”, and praised both Infinite and The Chaser's producer, Sweetune as being at “the forefront of the genre's best in 2012”.
