The director and leads of the upcoming Hollywood movie Jack Reacher can now call themselves (honorary) Busan citizens.
It was revealed on January 8 that actors Tom Cruise and Rosamund Pike, of Jack Reacher, and its director Christopher McQuarrie, had been appointed honorary citizens of Busan.
On January 10, a red carpet event will take place for the premiere of Jack Reacher in which Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike and Christopher McQuarrie will attend and receive their honorary citizenship.
For Tom Cruise, this marks the sixth time he has visited Korea for movie promotions, but will be the first time attending an event in a city outside of Seoul.
Tom Cruise reportedly was the one himself who suggested the event take place in Busan so he could meet fans outside of Seoul.
To show their gratitude and appreciation, the city of Busan revealed it will grant the trio the honorary citizenship.
The action thriller movie Jack Reacher premieres in Korea on January 17.
