Billboard moved in to praise MFBTY (My Fan Better Than Yours), a group put together by Yoon Mirae, Tiger JK and Bizzy.
On February 6 (KST), Billboard reported on the group through an article titled 'MFBTY (Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae and Bizzy) Spread Korean Hip-Hop in France' for its new K-Pop column 'K-Town'.
It covered how MFBTY had performed at the biggest music market MIDEM in Cannes, France held on February 27, inserting an interview and music videos by the group.
It referred to Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae as 'the Jay-Z of Korea' and the 'Queen of Hip-Hop', while saying, "The performance confirmed that music does, indeed, transcend language as attendees (mostly non-Korean MIDEM participants, critics and journalists) were bopping to the music with their hands waving in the air."
It added, "And whether or not MFBTY intended to, the group cemented Korean hip-hop as a viable genre that can please anywhere in the world -- including MIDEM."
According to the article, MFBTY performed at the K-Pop Night Out at MIDEM 2013 for 40 minutes, singing to 12 of its hits including Pay Day, Black Happiness, Thumb and True Romance.
The unit also sang its first single together, Sweet Dream.
Yoon Mirae said in an interview with the outlet, "We felt it was important to show that there is much more to Korean music," and "I am definitely honored to have been chosen to represent for my country."
MFBTY's Sweet Dream is currently on no. 13 on Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart.
