Baek Cheong Gang, winner of MBC's The Great Birth, is currently recovering from a surgery that removed a growth in his rectum.
A rep from Baek Cheong Gang's agency told enews on February 21 that "Baek Cheong Gang is currently recovering from his second surgery, which removed a growth from his rectum last month. He is doing well."
Baek Cheong Gang was first diagnosed with rectal cancer in August 2012.
In November 2012, he appeared on MBC's People Q while recovering from surgery.
"I'm not well enough to start singing yet," he said. "I need to tighten my stomach but I can't."
The agency rep added, "According to the medical team, he won't have to go through any more surgeries. He hasn't recovered enough to sing yet, so we'll work hard to help him regain his health."
Baek Cheong Gang will be meeting his fans for the first time after his surgery on February 23. Fans prepared the event to celebrate the singer's birthday, and he is planning to attend and thank them.
