Caldecott Hill’s resident Ah Ge Christopher Lee has had a long career in the entertainment industry. Earlier on in his career, he changed the middle character of his Chinese name. Although it was pronounced the same way, he reportedly did so in order to change his fortune.

He went through a rough patch in 2006 after being involved in a hit-and-run accident and decided to go back to his original name after the episode. Thankfully, he bounced back stronger than ever. He also tied the knot with MediaCorp Ah Jie Fann Wong in 2009.

The verdict: The name change brought about a spate of bad luck, and Christopher promptly returned to his old name. He has since enjoyed a successful career, even branching out to Taiwanese films earlier this year. Props to you, Ah Ge!
