What reportedly happened: Rain, who is currently serving the army, has been accused of taking advantage of his celebrity status and going on vacation too often. The issue resurfaced when it was revealed that he is dating actress Kim Tae-hee.

The aftermath: The entertainer was put on probation and investigated for his possible misdeeds. The public has also slammed him for his abuse of his status.

Our two cents: Rain is no stranger to scandals, with past scandals involving other celebrities surfacing every now and then. This, however, is a different story altogether as it involves national service. While we hope that he has not been guilty of abusing his status, we hope it serves as a reminder to celebrities out there that their status can be both a blessing and a curse.
