Big Bang’s Daesung

What reportedly happened: Daesung ran over a motorcyclist, Hyun, on the Yanghwa Bridge in Seoul and crashed into a taxi afterwards. Hyun was pronounced dead and Daesung was eventually declared ‘not guilty’ by the court.

The aftermath: Daesung suspended all promotional activities during the investigation. While he was found to not have been driving under the influence of alcohol, he was found guilty of driving above the speed limit.

Our two cents: While controversies are not uncommon in K-Pop, this was one of the more serious cases to rock the industry. Even though he was found not guilty, the fact that it involved a life likely weighed heavily on his mind.
