Jay Park
What reportedly happened: During Jay’s trainee days, he reportedly penned unfavourable comments about Korea on his MySpace account. What enraged the Korean public the most was his comment that he “hates koreans” (sic).
The aftermath: Jay expressed his remorse for his past actions with an official apology. Despite his company’s CEO declared that he would continue as part of the group, Jay announced that he would leave 2PM to calm the situation, also apologising to his members.
Our two cents: As a foreigner living in a strange land, coupled with the stress from his trainee days, it was perhaps understandable that he would make such remarks on his personal space though it may not have been the most tactful way to express himself. His successful debut as a solo artiste has shown that the public can forgive.
