As if we needed any more reminders of Psy's stellar year, Gallup Korea has released the results of a recent poll, naming Psy and his hit song Gangnam Style the Brightest Star and Song of 2012.
More than four thousand total respondents, from ages 13 to 59 participated in the poll, which asked them to choose up to three of their favorite singers of the year on three separate occasions in May, September and November.
By the final tally, Psy had come out on top with 24.4 percent, while Girls' Generation (SNSD) unit group Taetiseo came in at second with 19.8 percent and Big Bang rounded out the top three with 9.5 percent. Meanwhile, IU and trot singer Jang Yoon Jung ranked fourth and fifth, garnering 6.9 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.
This marks the end to SNSD's three-year streak at the top of Gallup Korea's yearly poll, having ranked number one from 2009 to 2011.
