Kibum's agency Professional told enews through an official press release on March 15 that "Kibum scored 10 billion won's worth of sales with his cosmetics and kimchi commercials."

The singer was able to score such a success thanks to his steady stream of promotions in Japan. Since he left U-KISS in 2011, Kibum has been active in Japan under the name Allen Kibum.

A rep from Professional said, "Kibum wished to perform in live performances every week and promote his albums in Japan in order to mature in music after his departure from U-KiSS. He has deliberately avoided being exposed to the press until he believed he was ready as a solo singer."

"Kibum plans to return to Korea soon," the rep said. "He will be releasing his first solo album Longing in April under the name Allen Kibum."
