Our little red dot may be hardly visible on the world map but it has been a shining beacon for K-Pop acts large and small. With the number of Korean acts on our calendar increasing year-by-year, it has proven a challenge to stage a full-scale solo concert. Since U-KISS’s debut in 2008, the group has visited our sunny shores thrice before this time and has finally been able to realize their dream of hosting their very own gig in Singapore.
Opening their concert with their title track from their seventh mini album, Stop Girl, the seven-piece boy-band wowed their screaming KissMe (U-KISS’s official fan club name) with two more tracks, ‘Believe’ and ‘Bingeul Bingeul’, before stopping to greet them. During their introduction, member AJ expressed, “It’s been a while and we really have so many songs (to perform, but) our power is your voice. So when I say scream, scream for five seconds!” KissMe did not disappoint and filled the venue with deafening cheers for the boys.
Apart from performing high-energy songs and slowing it down to croon a number of ballads, U-KISS spent time interacting with fans, with members having segments where a lucky fan was picked to go on-stage and take a group photo with the group and receive hugs from all the members. During their performances, the lads also took items such as headbands from their fans and proudly paraded around in them.
