Two years since their last visit to our sunny island, South Korean girl group A-Pink is set to return to Singapore for a special appearance at Vizit Korea 2013, a three-day event organised by MediaCorp VizPro and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to promote Korean culture.
Vizit Korea 2013 will take place at Singapore Expo from Oct 25 to 27, and A-Pink has been confirmed to perform on the event’s opening day.
Over the past two years, A-Pink has gone from a seven-member group to a sextet, following the departure of Yookyung earlier in April. Even though many Pink Pandas (official fanclub name) were upset by the news, the group’s popularity soared as their new projects continued to garner massive attention, turning A-Pink into one of the most prolific idol girl groups in 2013.
Releasing their third mini album Secret Garden in July, A-Pink’s title track ‘NoNoNo’ came out tops on music program MBC Show Champion, which also won the group their very first trophy on KBS Music Bank, a prize highly coveted by all K-pop singers.
Prior to their long awaited visit, xinmsn caught up with the girls in an email interview. “Singapore is the country where we have many good memories! A-Pink received our first Rookie of the Year Award here,” said leader Chorong. “I feel sorry towards our fans in Singapore that we haven’t had a chance to meet them properly yet.”
“I’ve always wanted to go back to Singapore. I even watch the old videos of our performances there sometimes!” Bomi added excitedly.
