Tim Hwang looks forward to meeting Singapore fans

With his strapping figure, clean cut good looks and smooth jazzy vocals, fans of Tim Hwang are in for a treat as the balladeer makes his maiden trip to Singapore this November. As the first stop of his inaugural “Into Asia Comes Tim’s World” fan meeting tour, the South Korean “Prince of Ballad” will be performing at an exclusive showcase at Hard Rock Café Singapore, organized by LEAP Integrated Marketing Solutions (LEAP IMS).
The 30-year-old showed his enthusiasm for the upcoming fan-meeting tour in an e-mail interview with xinmsn, “I’m really excited to experience different cultures. I’ve heard the city is beautiful and very clean so I’m excited to see [Singapore] and meet the people – especially my fans – I’m most excited for that.”
In an industry packed with boy bands and girl groups, Tim stands out with his soulful voice. You might have heard it on various OSTs of hit Korean dramas, including Secret Garden and 49 days. Besides having five albums under his belt, his debut hit ‘Saranghabnida (I Love You)’ was also covered by many popular Korean singers such as Shinhwa, TVXQ and Se7en.
Born in Philadelphia, USA, Tim gave up his dream of becoming a pharmacist and made a solo trip to Seoul to pursue a singing career, after he was talent-scouted by a K-pop music producer in 2000. The 30-year-old is effectively bilingual in English and Korean, and has made appearances in numerous variety programs such as Strong Heart and Immortal Song 2 which features the top singers in Korea.
Having played the lead role in a Korean-Indonesian drama co-production Saranghae, I Love You recently, Tim became a household name in the Southeast Asian country. In the interview, he talked about his hopes to further extend his entertainment career internationally.
“Working in Singapore would be awesome! Working in different parts of the world, I think, just expands your knowledge on music and art itself. Most importantly, the reason why I work is the relationships and the people whom I meet. If I had the honour and privilege to work in Singapore, I’d love to!”
