The energetic dancing prodigy is emerging from the shadows of Psy and ‘Oppan Gangnam Style’.

While Minwoo has horse-ridden the wave of ‘Gangnam Style’s popularity into stardom, he’s out to prove that he’s just not another one-hit wonder. In just a couple of weeks, his debut album Showtime is set to be released (don’t forget to check out the video link below for a live sneak peek of one of the tracks from Minwoo himself), and he told us he’s aiming to get into the Billboard Top 10 with the record. Ambition truly knows no age!

In addition, he has begun shooting a sitcom with a title that roughly translates into I’ll Tell You a Surprising Story, which also features other child stars. His previous – and first – acting gig was in Saigon Cinderella, where he plays a Korean child star who travels to Vietnam. ”I had a lot of fun acting, and enjoyed meeting and working with many new people, who were all very nice," he said of the stint. He has also called the experience a “meaningful and joyful” one, as it reflects his own multicultural background (his father is Korean and his mother is Vietnamese).

So what else is next in the blindingly bright future of this charismatic little chap? “I want to be known for not just being a good singer and dancer, but also a good actor,” he said, going on to add, “I want to become even more famous than Psy!”
