Green Day - ¡Tre!

The album starts off with ‘Brutal Love’ which is a tad disappointing. The opening track to ¡Tre! does not impress as much as the others in the trilogy. Similarly, ‘Missing You’, seems to be missing something. Aside from the heavy drum beats and the occasional guitar riff, the track lacks the punch to make it a hit.

‘Dirty Rotten Bastards’ sadly comes too late into the album. The track is a lot more punk rock and head-banging than the rest of the tracks on the album. With brilliant electric guitar runs and powerful beats, the six-minute track sounds like a couple of individual songs pieced together to tell a story.

Twi-hards (fans of The Twilight Saga) would love ‘The Forgotten’, the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The movie aside, the track is a beautiful saviour of the album and is a good way to close out the trilogy. With the incorporation of strings, the overall production of the song makes it seem as though they are singing the closing chapter for both their album and the book.

Perhaps producing three albums in such a short period is a little too ambitious, even for veterans like Green Day.

Listeners will probably be overloaded with too much Green Day material that everything starts to sound the same after a while. From a brilliant ¡Uno! to a bearable ¡Dos!, ¡Tre! fails to impress as much. They definitely could’ve done better song selections and released a double disc album or just one single album.
