The South China Sea has become a hotbed of tension recently.
Vietnam is setting up patrols to protect its fisheries in the South China Sea after a state company accused Chinese boats of sabotage.
Claims by China over most of the disputed sea have set it directly against Vietnam and the Philippines, who along with Brunei, Taiwan and Malaysia, also claim parts of the mineral rich waters.
Yesterday, 938LIVE's Reeta spoke to Associate Professor Li Mingjiang, from the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, and he explained why China is ratcheting up tension in the South China Sea
