China Q4 GDP rose 7.9%

China's economy rose 7.9 percent in the fourth quarter, from a year earlier, rebounding after seven straight quarters of slowdown. 

The National Bureau of Statistics said the Chinese economy grew 7.8 percent for the whole of last year. 

The figures were slightly stronger than market expectations. 

Other data released alongside GDP showed industrial output grew 10.3 percent in December, from a year ago. 

Retail sales rose 15.2 percent on-year last month.
