In tennis news, 

And the stage is set for an epic match as 17-time Grandslam winner Roger Federer will face Andy Murray in this evening's semi-final clash at the Australian Open. 

This will be their 3rd meeting in 9 months. 

Back in last year's Wimbledon campaign, the Swiss Maestro took down Murray in 4 sets in the Grand final. 

But a few weeks later, both players were back on CentreCourt at the All-England Club for the Men's Olympic Final. 

And this time round, Andy Murray brought down the former world number 1 in straight sets to win the Gold medal. 

The Scotsman followed up a month later, with his 1st Grandslam victory at the US Open. 

And today at the Rod Laver Arena, without having dropped a set in 5 matches, he's all set for the showdown. 

But he's up against 31 year old Federer, who's looking to continue his winning streak over Murray in Grandslam matches. 

And this semi-final will start at 430pm Singapore time. 


In regional football news, 

Our Lions 12 will kick off their Malaysian FA Cup campaign with this evening's clash against PKNS. 

Having just lost 1-nil to the T-team in Kuala Terengganu 3 days ago in the Malaysian Super League, the Singapore side is in Kuala Lumpur for today's clash at the Petaling Jaya Stadium. 

Veteran centreback Safuwan Bahruddin was 1 of 6 players who missed the recent defeat due to National Service commitments and suspensions. 

And this group only arrived in KL yesterday evening. 

Last year, our Lions were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. 

And this time round, they'll start the campaign against a PKNS team, whom they've lost in all 3 previous away matches. 

Kickoff today is at 415pm. 


In local horse-racing news, 

And 3 year old stallion SUPER EASY was named 2012's Horse of the Year at last night's annual Singapore Racing Awards ceremony. 

Having beaten the other big nominees like ROCKETMAN and FLAX to the coveted award, SUPER EASY was also named, the Champion Three-Year Old. 

His 7 straight victories from 10 starts last season included all 3 legs of the Singapore 3-year old challenge. 

And ROCKETMAN which only competed in 3 races last year due to injury, received 2 awards while ATO which won the Million dollar Kris-Flyer Sprint, took the Champion Four-Year-Old Award.
