Friendly football match in Italy called off for the first time due to racist chants

In football news,

AC Milan striker Kevin-Prince Boateng stormed off the pitch this morning, following racist chants during a friendly match.

Milan were up against 4th-division club Pro Patria.

But the game came to a halt when the 25-year-old German-born Ghanaian player, led his fellow team-mates off the pitch, after racial chants from a group of local fans.

Boateng picked up the ball, kicked it towards the Pro Patria stands and walked off the pitch in the stadium.

His teammates followed him despite Pro Patria players begging them to stay and whistles from most of the home fans against the racists.

The referee had already suspended the game twice before Boateng's outburst for repeated insults against the striker and fellow black teammates Sulley Muntari, M'Baye Niang
and Urby Emanuelson.

This was reportedly the first time in Italy, that a football game had been suspended because of racist chants.

In local football news,

The 39 year old is leaving due to family commitments.
