Japan posted a surprise rise in its factory output last month, but the economy ministry warned that industrial production is still on a downward trend.
The Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry said output grew 1.8 percent in October, from the previous month.
That's the first rise in four months.
A separate report showed that consumer prices in Japan stayed flat on-year in October after falling for five straight months.
The Internal Affairs Ministry also said jobless rate stood at 4.2 percent in October, unchanged from the previous month.
