Malaysia's electoral reform group Bersih invites Prime Minister Najib Razak and opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to present their respective election manifestos
Malaysia's electoral reform group Bersih has invited both Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to present their respective election manifestos at a public forum next week.
Its co-chair Ambiga Sreenevasan said this is to help satisfy Malaysians' excitement about the upcoming general election on the 5th of next month.
Bersih has signed up 3 thousand citizen observers to be the eyes and ears on the ground on polling day.
It's also campaigning for 100 percent voter turnout as a way to minimize fraud.
Dr Ambiga said Bersih is disappointed with the series of violations by caretaker governments from both sides in misusing state funds and public facilities.
She urged Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat to observe the code of conduct and guidelines strictly.
